IE display problem was created by jan_de
Hello all,
my IE-USers have a display problem with the Shoutbox.
The content seems to spill over the box and fills the whole template column. See screenshot.
It looks and works fine in other browsers.
Testet with Joomla! 3.9.5 with Beez3-template, JJ Shoutbox 8.1.17, IE 11
Any ideas?

Hi,

Unfortunately I'm unable to replicate this issue using Beez3 and IE11. The shoutbox looks perfectly fine for me.

In the Shoutbox styling settings, can you please try setting UI Framework Integration to None

If this doesn't fix the issue, it could possibly be some CSS from another extension (or your template) causing the issue.

regards,
Lodder

Thanks for looking into it, Lodder.
I played around with the debugger and found a line in mod_shoutbox.css that was causing the trouble:
.jjshoutboxoutput .shout-header {
                position: relative;
}

Removing the relative positioning solved the problem for me, with no visible side effects.
Maybe that helps others.
I don't know if thre are any other influencing factors on my setting.

Cheers, Jan

Hi Jan,

It's set to a relative position as the free version uses an absolute position for the actions (delete, edit). Removing this will make the action buttons appear in a different location.

Lodder
