jjshoutbox emotes default was created by Shorty

Hi, we just setup a joomla site and installed jjshoutbox.
Problem we are having is the emots are on and displayed down the side of the page.

Is there a way to make them hidden by default but available when you hit the button ?

Hi Shorty,

sorry for the late reply. Been a busy weekend with the World Cup going on.

Yes, you can hide them and have them show when a post is made. In the Joomla backend, open the module in the Module Manager and set the smilies parameter to Enable but don't show

When i set it to Enable but dont show i lose the button to open the smilies for use.

Im trying to have them available to click on but not expanded on page load.

so if a user wanted to use an emote they would have to hit the little button to bring down the
box instead of it already being open.

hope that makes sense lol

Ahh I see what you mean now.

There are 2 files that will require code changes to do what you need, however we are releasing an update for the shoutbox tomorrow so what Im going to do is, I'll let you firstly update the shoutbox once we release it, then I will attach the 2 changed file to this forum post for you to download and update on your server.

The reason why I want to wait till we have released an update is because if you make the changes before, the update will override them, therefore you will have to do it again.

Will keep you updated tomorrow.

Hi Shorty,

we have no released an update for the shoutbox. You can update this via your Joomla backend using the 1 click update feature or download it again from our site and install it.

Once done download the file I have attached to this post and extract it on your computer:

File Attachment:

File Name: shoutbox.zip
File Size:4 KB

You will have 2 files.

Upload mod_shoutbox.css to the following folder

media/mod_shoutbox/css

and upload the default.php to the following folder

modules/mod_shoutbox/tmpl
