Problem with Social Slider was created by ArnoldLayne
Hi,
I have two technical problems with the module social slider.
First of all when I try to access the module in the backend I get an error message on a white screen:
Fatal error: Call to undefined method ModulesModelModule::preprocessData() in [my root path]l/administrator/components/com_modules/models/module.php on line 592

Then in the frontend I only see the sliding bars, without the proper icons. I Firebug I see it's looking for icons like 'linkedin-.png'.
Because the filename includes a dash, I suppose its expecting 'black' or 'white'. My thought is, that this problem might be solved when I can set a black/white theme in the backend. If so then my only problem is the error message in the backend.

Can you help me with this?
Arnold

Hi Arnold,

The error you mentioned isn't anything to do with our module. This is a problem with your Joomla site. It might be possible that you are missing a core Joomla file or it is missing code from it. What I suggest you do is, ensure you are running the latest version of Joomla of the series you're using (2.5.11 or 3.1.1), and once done, download a fresh copy of Joomla, but only upload the "libraries", "includes" and "administrator" folders.

Hopefully this should fix the error and you will be able to edit the Module in the backend.

The second point you mentioned I don't think is a bug as we fully tested that feature before we released it and nobody else has had this problem. However, try doing what I suggested before and if you still have a problem with the icons, I will look into it.

Regards,
Lodder

Hi Lodder,

Thanks a lot for your quick response. I re-installed the latest Joomla update and now everything is working like a charm. There was probably a missing or corrupt file somewhere.

By switching from the white to the black theme (and back again) solved my second problem.
So everything is as it should be. Keep up the good work!

Arnold
