Wait a moment on migrating site to your workbench. It's a large site as it is...I reached out to the developer of the conflicting module to see if there is something they suggest that is in their module that is stripping out the CSS as you described. I am waiting to hear back for a reply from them. Stand-by.

They did, but said they were unwilling to look into the CSS of the social slider module to see what the conflict may be. They wouldn't say if it was anything on their end.

Yet another case of very unhelpful support :/
Not to worry, I'm sure we can get to the bottom of this
Can I now take a backup of your site to test locally?
If so I will do that tonight and start to test then will get back to you with an answer as soon as I can.
