Multiple shout boxes

Hi,
I wanted to have multiple shout boxes for different sections on my Joomla 3.6 site. Thought I just could copy the module and set different access levels.

It doesn't seem to work that way as my output stays mixed and I was expecting that each copy would generate and produce its own output.

Is this possible?

Hi vanderslikke,

Unfortunately this is not possible. The shoutbox uses 1 database table, so having multiple shoutboxes would push the same shouts to each one.

We did start adding unique ID's in the Javascript to make it a little more future proof, but decided not to support multiple shoutboxes as there wasn't a high demand for it, however we may look into supporting it in the future.

There is no solution as we work heavily with ID's for performance purposes. Until we move towards classes, multiple shoutboxes isn't possible
