Conflict with other modules
was created by
ggaillet
Had a problem lately with one of my module when opening a popup window. I thought this was coming from the module and I never though about the shoutbox version (I recently updated to the pro version).
It turned out that Shoutbox pro seems to use the CSS class 'modal' and change the properties of the links opening in Joomla popup. As a consequence, this is a general problem for the whole website as soon as a any component is trying to open a link in modal.
De activating shoutbox makes the rest of the site working again (for opening link in modal).

Conflict with other modules
Hi ggaillet,
There are 1 instances of the modal within the Shoutbox. One for the shout history, and another for opening images from a shout. Now when using Bootstrap as your frontend framework, the `.modal` class is
required
on the modal wrapper
Have a look here:
getbootstrap.com/javascript/#modals
So all the Shoutbox does is use the correct HTML markup provided by the Bootstrap documentation.
I haven't looked at your site so I won't jump to any conclusions, but I would be very surprised if the issue is actually coming from the Shoutbox, rather than the template or different 3rd party extension.
Nonetheless, would you be able to provide me with a URL and temporary super admin account for me to test? If so, please send the details to

Thanks Lodder,
Well, according to the screenshot attached, you guys do change the default behavior of the bootstrap by adding your own CSS properties. This got an impact on the other modules using modal.
I am not an expert at all in that, but I would believe that there should not be proprietary CSS code here like you guys did?
My 2 cents.

Hi ggaillet,
All the code there is either our own, boostrap or uikit, none of which are proprietary
In terms of the classes used you have a variety of options. If your template uses one of bootstrap 2, 3 or uikit then you just need to select that option in the backend parameter (the option called "UI Framework Integration" in the "Styling" tab). If you are using some other framework then we need a way to create modals. So we've imported the default bootstrap code - which also requires default styling.
Would you be willing to share what CSS Framework your site is using to help me taylor my response to your specific problem?
Kind Regards,
George
